Unknown: Killer Robots

Unknown: Killer Robots, a Netflix exclusive, is a dark science-themed documentary reporting on the current use of Artificial Intelligence technology in the military. I was brought on as the designer and animator for the project. Working closely with the director and the rest of the production team at Story Syndicate NY, we brainstormed many different ideas and concepts both for a general look and feel as well as specific directions for the many categories of deliverables, both 3D and 2D.

Production was fast and furious with tons of iterating and thinking on my feet. Houdini played a huge role in allowing me to develop procedural networks that could easily be tweaked to suit different styles and scenarios. Many assets of mine made it to the final cut, and many did not. This page serves as a showcase of not just the final elements, but of the entire design and ideation process.
